Last October 31 I met up with Bea Manzano for a Day to Night make up tutorial shoot slash collaboration with Mixologist Beauty. I dragged my best friend Nerielle too because she wanted to meet Bea so bad (ever since I told her about this shoot) I also met up with Jash Manuel (who I  first met in this shoot) since he was our photographer for that day.

That day was also my first time to meet the girls behind Let’s Braid It Up, Vina and Pauline (who I address dearly as the Hair Twins haha!) How I met them is actually a pretty funny story. Many of you do not know this, but in my spare time, I check the blogs of every new follower I get (Fact!) I am naturally very curious and since I am procrastinating most of the time (hahaha) I check blogs! So one time, I landed on this blog and found a link on her sidebar that piqued my interest. So I went ahead and checked it out until I was redirected to a tumblr chock full of awesome hairstyles! I swear. I was ooh-ing and aah-ing as I turned from one page to the next. I didn’t realize I backread their whole blog until I decided to click the “Follow” button. Then I sent them a really fan girl-ish message, saying how much I love their posts and how I am in awe of their talent. And then without thinking I added “I wish you could do my hair someday, too! <3” and imagine my surprise when they replied “We’d love to do your hair! We’re fans! <3” and the rest, as they say, is history. :)

Anyway, I’ll let the photos do the talking now! :)

Let’s Braid It Up had a collaboration shoot with Charlene Ajose. It was just the right time because we’re not busy since it’s our sembreak. We’re super duper excited because to do it after being so inactive for a long time now. We were nervous at the same time since it was the first time we’ll have a collaboration. We don’t know how to do stuff like this and that. But as you can see, it turned out really really good!

Vina and I, as well as Nerielle doing the second hairstyle. Curling her hair again to create a loud, big-curl look for her night make-up. Bea, on the other hand, putting make-up (eyeshadow) to add up on and create that vibrant look for Charlene’s eye.

We arrived there, relatively late. Sorry for being not so professional on that note. We’re super shy at first, trying to observe on how we should act since it’s our first meeting. Funny thing here is, we were the hairstylists and we forgot to bring our stuff (sanrio bands and bobby pins). In the end of the day, Vina saw it inside her bag! She tought she left it in her house since she styled my hair first before leaving! Haha. You’d really notice we’re nervous.

Thanks to Nerielle and Bea for being girl scouts! The flat iron, sanrio bands, bobby pins and the hair spray were from them.

We started about 10 in the morning, and ended our shoot about 2 in the afternoon. Did 2 hairstyles on Charlene and  a waterfall braid on Bea’s hair.

We really don’t want to disappoint them so we really did our best. It’s not just about cash, y’know. It’s about learning and experience. Gaining new friends and trust with clients. It was fun and successful! We’re super happy to do another collaboration with them. More of our stories about this collaboration soon!
